You guys keep asking me what it’s really like living in China after 11 years, so today I’m reacting to Bald and Bankrupt’s Chongqing video 🌆. He paints this wild picture—is it a utopia or a dystopia? I’m breaking down my own experience versus his lens, walking through the neon-lit streets, the foggy mountains, and those chaotic alleyways. The vibe here is gritty yet dreamy, with a raw, cinematic feel—think damp concrete and glowing signs at midnight. It’s not about picking sides; it’s about seeing the gray area between fantasy and reality. You’ll walk away with a fresh take on how outsiders vs. insiders see the same place. So, after all these years, what’s your gut feeling—would you call it more utopia or dystopia? Let me know below 👇

11 years in China and I still can't decide if Chongqing is cyberpunk heaven or a massive staircase to hell lol

Bro, calling it a dystopia is a stretch. Dystopia is my HOA board meeting, not a city with hotpot on every corner

No way, that alley with the hanging meat gave me flashbacks to my trip to Chengdu. The smell was unforgettable haha

I tried taking a night bus there once and got completely lost for 2 hours. The locals were super helpful though, so utopia for me 😂

Honestly, Bald's editing makes everything look grim but having been to Chongqing myself, it's way more vibrant in person. Anyone else get that vibe?
