"Today I’m feeling a mix of reflection and curiosity, and I had to ask myself—why are so many foreigners actually leaving Japan? 🇯🇵💭 You’ve seen the dreamy images of cherry blossoms and bullet trains, but behind the scenes, there’s a quiet exodus happening. In this video, I walk through the real stories I’ve heard—from visa struggles to cultural burnout—while sitting in a cozy Tokyo café, rain tapping on the window. The visuals shift from warm golden-hour streets to moody, muted indoor shots, capturing that bittersweet tension between love and frustration. This isn’t a rant—it’s a raw look at what draws people here and what pushes them away. If you’ve ever wondered if the expat dream has cracks, you’ll walk away with a deeper, more honest perspective. So, what would make you stay—or leave? Drop your thoughts below, and if this hit home, toss me a like and save it for later. 💬✨

I've been here 10 years and love it, but I get why people leave. The isolation can hit you hard if you don’t build a solid friend group.

My friend left because he couldn't handle the tiny apartments and constant judgment from neighbors lol. Not for everyone.

I lived there for 3 years and honestly, the work culture just wore me down. No overtime pay for extra hours is brutal.

But Japan is still amazing tho! I visit every year and never get bored. Maybe it’s just not for everyone to live in long-term.

Anyone else think the language barrier is a bigger issue than people admit? I struggled even with basic stuff like opening a bank account.
